Copper hole tester principle and method--Eddy Current
Measures inductance of material and correlates that to thickness
How it works:
.Coil creates oscillating magnetic field
.Eddy currents are induced on conductive material
.Eddy currents create inductance in probe that translate to thickness
.Intensity of eddy currents depends on conductivity and depth of penetration in both coating and base
.Eddy current differential is compared to intensities at infinite and bare levels to calculate thickness
.Sometimes called non-ferrous (NF) gauge
Copper Thickness Gauge Product Introduction
【Use】
This instrument is suitable for non-destructive and accurate measurement of hole copper thickness before and after etching of printed circuit boards
【Product advantages】
1: The automatic temperature compensation function allows the circuit board to be detected immediately after being lifted from the plating bath. This reduces scrap and rework costs.
2: The unique design makes the CMI500 thickness meter capable of measuring double or multi-layer circuit boards and can even measure through tin and tin/lead resists.
3: Hand-held design, battery-powered.
4: One-thousandth of an inch/micron unit conversion.
5: Serial output port for transferring results to the printer or OICM's unique statistics and report generation program
